Review The software has been designed as general software for surveillance cross platforms functioning concurrently with wireless and wired Internet webcams, TV-boards, capture boards, power-line, and USB cameras. It has web interface with the same look and functionality on the local and distant pcs. Users see MPEG coded picture and have complete management of the software via network that surveillance station can be run without screen, keyboard, and mouse attached. Program`s modular composition drastically increases reliability because all components act as autonomous software. If one module stops working, other components go on running. For example if the `record` component stops working, `watchdog` restarts it immediately that users don`t notice anything because they are watching picture via a `playback` part. The program performs `repeated` recording that the `disk full` situation never happens. The recording can be non-stop or it can be initiated by movement, human face detection, or by schedule. The program has pre-alarm and post-alarm recording. Playing back recorded video is pretty easy and performs on the surveillance station as well as on remote workstation via Web interface. The software makes simultaneous video playback for event examination from multiple cameras at the same time. Also recorded information can be searched by date, time or by face detected. All recorded information can be encrypted and password protected. |
