Review This is a free video editor that works like Adobe Premiere and Avidemux. It is designed for cutting, filtering and encoding tasks. It supports many file types, including AVI, DVD compatible MPEG files, MP4 and ASF, using a variety of codecs. Tasks can be automated using projects, job queue and powerful scripting capabilities. It is capable of non-linear video editing, applying visual effects (called "Filters" by Avidemux) to video, and transcoding video into various formats. Some of the filters were ported from MPlayer and Avisynth. It can also insert audio streams into a video file ("muxing/multiplexing") or extract audio streams from video files ("demuxing"). It has built-in subtitle processing, both for Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to soft subtitle formats (VobSub sub, ass and srt) and various hard subtitle VobSub capabilities. While it is primarily a GUI program, itcan also be run from and through the command line (which can also be used for batch processing and debugging). |
