ListIT automates the process of capturing customised
file lists, enabling a user to accurately capture the contents of a directory
(including sub-directories) and export results to a file for further use.
Features include the ability to list files using
customisable file extension filters, creating file hashes using popular
algorithms such as MD5 and SHA, extracting file system attributes such as
"hidden", "read only", etc,
ListIT will also automatically extract meta-data from many popular file
types such as Microsoft Office (including Office 2007), Outlook MSG files and
Adobe PDF documents. Extracted metadata
includes author, document creation date, document last printed date, number of
attachments (if an email), last modification date and many more. ListIT by default,
also extracts any file system date and time properties such as the creation,
accessed and modified dates.
ListIT is able to extract the
metadata for Office 2007 and Office 2010 without the need to have either of
these Office versions installed.
Metadata is also extracted from Microsoft Outlook MSG files including
the names of any sender and recipients, the number of attachments to the
messages, the email subject and the date that the message was sent and/or
Detailed information is also extracted from Microsoft
PowerPoint presentations including the number of slides in the presentation,
whether the presentation contains any hidden slides and whether or not the
presentation contains any author notes.
As a user option, the results can contain file hash using
one of 21 popular algorithms including MD5, the SHA family of algorithms and
ListIT creates a full listing in
an easily readable CSV file containing all of this information. The output is accessible as a text file or is
viewable using spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Excel or any database
